I grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and am a proud Yooper. Now living downstate, I often get requests from others on what they should do, see, and take with them as they travel through the U.P. This site is in response to that, and will not only act as a guide for Northbound travelers - but also for those interested in the outdoors anywhere.
Possibly it’s more likely for someone from rural beginnings, having lived in natures gullet, to also adapt well and work in the city than it is for the fast paced city dweller to get dirty in what nature is and has to offer. Still, I’ve decided to raise my family below the bridge. I can only hope that I do a sufficient job in bringing the balance of nature and cosmopolite so that they have a more well rounded foundation than might reside in me.
This site is mostly for you city folk who have that warm amber, ready to ignite the fire of natures calling inside us all. I’d like to help you respond to that call.
