I’ve listed guys clothing here, but Filson and Danner make awesome women’s lines also.
Filson Made in USA Clothes
I like Filson clothes, specifically their items made in the USA. Their slogan - might as well have the best - stands true. All Filson products listed on this site are made in America. The Made in the USA products will last for years, maybe even generations.
My hunting clothes need to be super quiet. Filson wool clothes are just that. I know some people are crazy about scent-lok clothes, but there is something about the wool, it seems to take in the surrounding scent rather than mine. I’ve had deer come within inches and sniff my clothes, then continue to wander and feed through the woods without a care.
The wool keeps you dry in a downpour, and warm in a blizzard. Read the full Filson Review
Here’s a Filson Wool Tip I learned from a scrappy old timer - Let the wool clothes sit out in downpour’s, then hang dry. It will soften them up much faster than just normal wear.

Tin Cloth Insulated Hat with Blaze Orange ($38) and the Double Mackinac Hat ($59) for extreme cold weather.
Danner Combat Hiker
Danner is another classic American Company. Like Filson, they also make some of their products overseas. But their Made in America line is top notch. The Combat Hiker were designed by the U.S. military for our troops in Afghanistan. They feel like the best all purpose boots I’ve ever had. Read the full review.
Cost is about $300
Danner Mountain Light
I was told these Danner’s would be tough to break in, but mine have been comfortable from day one. They sole is quite a bit stiffer than the Combat Hiker. Owners that have had these boots for years have all said they will become the most comfortable boots I ever own.
Cost is about $300
I buy my boots at Utica Shoe

Irish Setter Elk Ridge 10” 1000 gr.
Not made in America, but for keeping under the $200 price point I think this is about as good as it gets. Plus, I wasn’t able to find a USA made pair, 10” with 1000 gr. Thinsulate.
I bought mine at Utica Shoe and asked them to dye the outsole to eliminate the silhouette while hunting. You can see this stock picture has a light edge around the sole.
